Q: When will our hockey tournament schedule be provided to our youth hockey team, and how will we receive it?
A: All schedules are emailed to Team Reps/Managers 7 – 10 days prior to each youth hockey tournament date.
Q: Can we make special requests to our hockey tournament schedule, and request certain times that we would like to play or not like to play in the hockey tournament?
A: Yes, if they communicate well before the tournament. We always do our best to accommodate all requests made heading into the weekend.
Q: How are divisions made for our youth hockey tournaments?
A: As we have teams from all over North America that attend our tournaments there are several factors used to build each division. Age, level of play, and contact or no-contact is where we start. From there we will use the geographic region the team is from, how many teams are in that area, and the number of players. Lastly, we will use My Hockey Rankings. This gives us a look at who each team has played and the outcomes of their games. Along with their ranking within that level. AAA in one area can be different in another area and so on down, especially in Mass where they use that designation for teams at multiple Tiers.
Q: Where do I submit my youth hockey team's official roster for the youth hockey tournament?
A: Rosters can be submitted directly to our Youth Hockey Director and should be sent once you have your approved copy and are accepted into the tournament.
Q: When will we know what hotel our hockey team is staying at?
A: Most of our youth hockey tournament hotel contracts for the package tournament option are required to submit hotel lists 30 days prior to the tournament. Around 30 days ahead of each tournament we should be able to provide confirmed hotel information for every youth hockey tournament.
Q: Do we trade hockey pins at our youth hockey tournaments?
A: We do not make it a mandatory part of our youth hockey tournaments to provide and trade hockey pins that are representative of every hockey team or organization, to be mindful to those youth hockey teams and organizations that do not have pins. However, if you have pins and your youth hockey players enjoy the experience, you are welcome to partake in that exchange, so long as it is a respectable experience.
Q: Are there banquet or party rooms to rent at the youth hockey tournament hotels for our youth hockey teams to rent for the tournament weekend?
A: Each hotel that we use in youth hockey tournament hotel packages are slightly different, some have halls to be rented or given out to our organization for a scheduled period, others just do not have that kind of space. If this is something you are interested in, we can submit the request and connect you with the appropriate people in advance.
Q: Can our youth hockey teams play mini sticks in the hallways at hotels when we are staying on the hotel package for youth hockey tournaments?
A: Most hotels do not let youth hockey teams play mini sticks in the hallways to keep the noise and damage to the hotel walls at a minimum. There could be 300+ people in a hotel for the weekend of a tournament who are a part of our youth hockey tournaments, and if everyone played mini sticks you can imagine the collateral damage to the hotel facilities!
Q: Is there a discount for coaches and managers at youth hockey tournaments?
A: If your team has a package number greater than 38 people, then team coaches or managers, (one representative per team) receive a discount applied directly to the credit card used on the Sportsengine registration.
Q: What happens if the division that we selected for the youth hockey tournament does not get filled and needs to be cancelled for the tournament?
A: Our youth tournament director will reach out to the managers and coaches directly and try to make sure this is the last resort because we want as many teams as possible to enjoy their youth hockey tournament experience!
Q: Why would our organization cancel a division, how far in advance will we know of the cancellation and how will the refunds be processed?
A: A division would be cancelled if more than 4 teams don’t register for that particular age group and level, which would make the competition and overall hockey tournament experience less ideal. Our youth hockey tournament director will contact the coach or manager to inform them of this cancellation, and our administrative staff will process returns as quickly as possible.
Q: How do I make a change to my family's hotel registration made on Sportsengine?
A: Once a payment has been made on Sportsengine, you cannot go back into an account and make a change independently. Our administrative staff must make changes following the initial booking, to make sure that we do not miss any of the changes on our end!

A: We take great pride in our partnerships with the hotels that we work with for youth hockey tournaments and work very closely with hotel staff and security in the hotels to make sure everyone has a safe, comfortable and respectful youth hockey tournament experience both at the arena, in the restaurants associated with tournament weekends and the hotels. Extra security ensures that the hotel hallways, communal areas like pools and restaurants as well as the hotel rooms are maintained in a respectful and safe manner for the duration of the youth hockey tournament.
Q: How do I book an extra night at the hotel for my family?
A: All extra nights can be booked in the initial registration on Sportsengine, however following the initial registration extra nights
Q: As a team manager, how do I see who has registered on my team?
A: When we receive your youth hockey tournament registration, we approve it and send you instructions for the next registration portion which includes a private page for your teams registrations, that only the team manager has access to, to watch an auto populated charge directly linked to Sportsengine so that you can click on the link and see in real time exactly what has been registered for your team.
