At New "STATE OF THE ART" Sir Sandford Fleming College Residence
RESIDENCE FEATURES:
- Each residence unit has 6 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms with showers
- Each residence unit has 1 senior staff per 6 players
- Each residence unit has refrigerator and all furniture
- On main floor of residence unit is laundry facilities, game room, and work-out gym
- Outside the residence includes basketball court, tennis court, soccer field and baseball diamond
- NEW! Swimming at the new Wellness Centre on campus
RESIDENCE INCLUDES:
(Sunday through to Friday afternoon)
- Check-in Sunday 4:00 pm at Sir Sandford Fleming College
- Check-out Friday 6:00 pm at arena
- 5 night stay over Sunday through Thursday
- 5 dinners Sunday through Thursday
- 5 breakfasts Monday through Friday
- 5 lunches at arena Monday through Friday
- Transportation between Residence and Evinrude Arena daily (5 minutes)
- Camper will be sent checklist of things to bring in June mailer
- Assistance in arranging airport shuttle
PROGRAM FEATURES:

15 hours on-ice Monday to Friday
3 hours on-ice daily
- 1-1/2 hours in morning power skating
- 1-1/2 hours in afternoon goal scoring
- program runs 8 am to 5 pm daily
1-1/2 hours daily specialized power skating:
- agility and balance, forward and backward
- crossovers on CHE Carousel machine
- using both edges and learn how to attack the net
- developing speed stride
- utilizing upper body for better balance, and all aspects of skating
- building speed muscles in legs
- circuit training
- parachute resistance training
- video analysis on skating stride and shooting
1-1/2 hours daily specialized goal scoring:
- develop stick speed
- develop one-time shot
- develop off-balance shot
- when to shoot / when to deke
- develop all shots – wrist, snap, backhand, slapshot, top shelf shot, fade-away shot
- 3-on-3 “Pond-Style” scrimmage will take place on each da
2 hours off-ice program
- target shooting, balance and agility drills
- 1 hour daily recreation including soccer, ball hockey, lacrosse, basketball and baseball
- daily lecture including “Sports Concussion” lecture/video
- daily lunch and offical hockey camp jersey included
- groups will be limited to 34 skaters and 4 goalies
- goalie instruction - coach/goalie ratio 1:4
- 6 instructors on-ice
