RESIDENCE DATES: July 2 - August 17, 2012

At New "STATE OF THE ART" Sir Sandford Fleming College Residence

RESIDENCE FEATURES:

  • Each residence unit has 6 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms with showers
  • Each residence unit has 1 senior staff per 6 players
  • Each residence unit has refrigerator and all furniture
  • On main floor of residence unit is laundry facilities, game room, and work-out gym
  • Outside the residence includes basketball court, tennis court, soccer field and baseball diamond
  • NEW! Swimming at the new Wellness Centre on campus


RESIDENCE INCLUDES:
(Sunday through to Friday afternoon)

  • Check-in Sunday 4:00 pm at Sir Sandford Fleming  College
  • Check-out Friday 6:00 pm at arena
  • 5 night stay over Sunday through Thursday
  • 5 dinners Sunday through Thursday
  • 5 breakfasts Monday through Friday
  • 5 lunches at arena Monday through Friday
  • Transportation between Residence and Evinrude Arena daily (5 minutes)
  • Camper will be sent checklist of things to bring in June mailer
  • Assistance in arranging airport shuttle

PROGRAM FEATURES:

July 23, 2012 - July 27, 2012

25 hours on-ice Monday to Friday

  • program runs 8am to 6pm daily
  • players will be notified of their acceptance
  • 6 teams of 15 skaters and 2 goalies
  • U.S. College/Major Junior A information seminars
  • special instructors to include Major Jr. A coaches, Junior & Pro players, scouts and U.S. College players


5 hours on-ice daily

  • 2 hours pro-like drills each morning stressing CHE power skating program plus parachute training; 1 hour shooting and passing early afternoon; 1 hour team play focusing on transition, cycling the puck, defencemen jumping in,  reading plays, power play and penalty killing, learn 5 forechecks, D-D pass, reverses, skills competition and 1 hour tournament game late afternoon
  • scouts from Junior A, B and U.S. College are present
  • video analysis on skating stride and shooting
  • 3-on3 "Pond-Style" scrimmage will take place on each day
  • 1 hour CHE off-ice training program with emphasis on leg strengthening and conditioning
  • 1 hour daily recreation
  • daily lectures including “Sports Concussion” lecture/video
  • 1 hour daily recreation, daily lectures, free daily lunch
  • goalie instruction - coach/goalie ratio 1:4
  • 5 instructors on-ice
  • Plyometrics and off-ice program will be mailed June 1.
