Located in the heart of the stunning Kawartha Lakes, Peterborough is home to many things including the LiftlocksThe Canoe Museum and Canadian Hockey Enterprises.  Our hometown camp has been running since 1987 and for 7 weeks each summer, we completely take over the Evinrude Centre offering world class hockey camps for men, women, boys and girls of all ages.  CHE prides itself on innovative programs, instruction from top notch professionals, at a competitive price for everyone!

20 Hours on-ice Monday to Friday

4 total hours on-ice daily

1 hour daily power skating on-ice
  • hockey aerobics
  • proper crossover development with CHE carousel
  • parachute and resistance cords training
  • body awareness development with spring board
  • mirror board utilization to show proper stride and upper body movement
1 hour daily puck control
  • develop stick fakes
  • protecting the puck
  • develop quick stick handling by using golf balls
  • develop skill of finding open ice
  • develop feet as part of puck control
  • learn curl and drag skill with stick
  • learn the power of peripheral vision
  • use CHE-patented stickmen for putting puck through triangle and between opponent’s legs
  • develop puck control while skating backwards and while pivoting
1 hours daily goal scoring
  • develop stick speed while shooting
  • develop one-timer shot
  • learn art of when to shoot, when to deke
  • develop all shots – wrist, backhand, snap, slap and deke
  • develop proper positioning for goal scoring
  • develop point shots and art of tip-ins
  • learn how to shoot on-the-fly
1 hour controlled scrimmage
  • 3-on-3 “Pond-Style” scrimmage will take place on each day
  • 1 hour off-ice concentrating on target shooting daily
  • 1 hour plyometrics and CHE-patented Speed & Power Program
  • daily lectures
  • daily lunch and offical hockey camp jersey included
  • groups are limited to 34 skaters and 4 goalies
  • goalie instruction - coach/goalie ratio 1:4

4 Components to off-ice training
  1. Running or Treadmill
  2. Plyometrics
  3. Weight Training
  4. Shooting Lead Pucks

2017 Cost: $405.00 Cdn funds plus 13% H.S.T

Plyometrics and off-ice program will be mailed June 1.
Plyometrics are activities designed to develop power. 
They include a variety of footwork drills and special exercises which enhance a hockey player’s ability to move quickly and explosively. Agility and balance are also improved.

At the “STATE OF THE ART” Sir Sandford Fleming College Residence 

RESIDENCE FEATURES:
  • Each residence unit has 6 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms with showers
  • Each residence unit has 1 senior staff per 6 players
  • Each residence unit has refrigerator and all furniture
  • On main floor of residence unit is laundry facilities, game room, and work-out gym
  • Outside the residence includes basketball court,
  • tennis court, soccer field and baseball diamond plus 
    swimming at the Wellness Centre

RESIDENCE INCLUDES: (Sunday through Friday afternoon)
  • Check-in Sunday 4:00 pm at Sir Sandford Fleming College; check-out Friday 6:00 pm at arena
  • 5 night stay over Sunday through Thursday
  • 5 dinners Sunday through Thursday
  • 5 breakfasts Monday through Friday
  • 5 lunches at arena Monday through Friday
  • Transportation between Residence and Evinrude Arena daily (5 minutes)
  • Camper will be sent checklist of things to bring prior to camp
  • Assistance in arranging airport shuttle
