What's not to love about Kelowna, BC.  Beautiful mountains, stunning lakes, amazing vineyards, world renowned golf courses, natural beaches and more.  It's also home to the Capital News Centre where hockey players will converge to improve their skills, get in game shape and make some new friends.  CHE prides itself on innovative programs, instruction from top notch professionals, at a competitive price for everyone!

15 hours on-ice Monday to Friday 
3 hours on-ice daily 
1.5 hours morning & 1.5 hours afternoon 

Power Skating:
  • emphasis on all aspects of skating – forward stride, backwards, agility, crossovers, stops, quick turns, power stride, mohawk turns, explosive starts
  • parachute and resistance cords training

  • shooting technique - utilizing lead pucks, control boards, golf balls and various innovative tools to enhance shooting technique and velocity
  • Shooting - wrist, backhand, snap/slap, top-shelf, deking
       - target shooting including developing a one timer
       - deciding when to shoot and when to deke
       - quick release emphasized

Sticking Handling:
  • develop stick fakes and quick stick manoeuvres
  • learn to protect the puck & be deceptive
  • develop feet as part of puck control
  • learn curl and drag skill with stick
  • learn the power of peripheral vision
  • use CHE-patented stickmen for developing high level deking
  • develop stick handling while skating backwards and while pivoting
  • stick handling - small game orientated stations with emphasis on keeping the puck tight in confined areas
  • 3-on-3 “Pond-Style” scrimmage will take place on each day
  • 1 hour daily off-ice training with stick handling and shooting
  • 1 hour daily recreation includes soccer, ball hockey, lacrosse, basketball and baseball
  • daily lectures including “Sports Concussion” lecture/video
  • daily lunch and offical hockey camp jersey included
  • groups will be limited to 34 skaters and 4 goalies
  • goalie instruction - coach/goalie ratio 1:4
  • 6 instructors on-ice

2018 Cost: $425.00 CDN funds plus G.S.T (5%)



Residence Features
  • Located walking distance to the arena and across the road from private beach on Lake Okanagan
  • Players walk to the arena and the beach
  • Brand new “State of the Art” facilities
  • Residence has own cafeteria and gymnasium
  • Each residence unit will have counsellors present at all times
  • Workout facilities available on campus

Residence Includes (Sunday through Friday afternoon)
  • Check-in Sunday 4:00 pm at residence
  • Check out Friday at 5:00 pm
  • 5 Nights stay Sunday through Thursday
  • 5 Breakfasts and dinners included at the residence
  • 5 Lunches at Capital News Centre included Monday to Friday
  • 5 minute walk to Capital News Centre & beach across the road
  • Campers will be sent a check list of things to bring prior to camp
  • Assistance in arranging airport shuttle
Kelowna Arena Features
“State of the Art” arena Capital News Centre, complete with restaurant, workout facilities, surrounding soccer and ball fields and 2 indoor soccer fields for off-ice activities. Swimming at nearby beach.

Upon submitting this registration form, you will be directed to Paypal where a payment of either $200 or $400 (with residence) is required to register. ALL DEPOSITS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE. Full refund will be given in the event that this camp is cancelled by CHE.

The participant acknowledges and agree that Canadian Hockey Enterprises or any of the principals, officers, employees, agents, directors or instructors will not be responsible for any accident, damage, injury or loss, concussion, however caused, negligent or otherwise, at any time and expressly releases any and all the aforementioned parties from all claims arising from any accident, concussion, damage, injury or loss or as a consequence thereof. The undersigned participant hereby certifies you have been recently examined by a doctor, is in good health and fully physically able to participate in all the vigorous activities of the camp. In the event of injury or illness, the hockey camp has my permission to obtain medical care for which I agree to be responsible. I have read the cancellation policy. All photographs acquired at the hockey camp become the property of Canadian Hockey Enterprises and may be used for promotional brochures and website viewing.
